"Everything is ceremony in the wild garden of childhood." Pablo Neruda

The magic of the kiln is unrivaled! The metal beast that performs magic in our basement helps us create long-lasting projects throughout the year. We occasionally offer classes to older children in the neighborhood or adults, but primarily we incorporate clay and ceramic projects into everyday learning that happens at the school.
Clay is a rich sensory tool and also contributes greatly to hand strength. Hand strength is very important for fine motor skills including writing, which contributes to general literacy and reading skill. Everything is linked together in this world and in the lives of these children.
